Heading south for winter

Just like us, the grackles have headed south for winter, and thousands of them decided that the intersection of West Belfort and Post Oak is a great place to settle for winter. My mom was kind enough to pull into the Krogers so I could snap a few Instagrams.

Bugs and gems

We are making the most of our time in Houston (not just eating ribs), and went to the butterfly center at the Museum of Natural Science

and let the kids run through the gem vault.

The highlight for Ronnie was picking out a geode and cracking it open to find her own gems.

Blast Off

Ben got to go to NASA during this visit in Houston.

Hidden Hummingbirds

I would suggest that there is no possible way to get a decent picture of a hummingbird with an iPhone 3GS, but that didn't stop me from trying. See if you can find the hummingbirds in these pictures from Tomales Bay.
