My birds

There's still time to enter the give away! Scroll down two posts. . .

I absolutely fell in love with this set of bird canvases from Pottery Barn, but. . .
they are no longer available, and the last one slipped through my fingers on ebay. So, I attempted to make my own. I feel so crafty!

I'm really happy with how the birds and colors turned out, but the mod podge dried streaky, and it also made the paper pucker. Any suggestions on how to fix this from all you creative people?

Going vintage

First of all, the "Under Her Charm's First Give Away" is still going on! Scroll down to the next post to enter.

In other news, I was in a rustic sort of mood tonight, and created this new vintage style dog tag.

The perfectly placed script letter is the focal point of this rustic vintage necklace. The pieces are oxidized and brushed to an antiqued finish.

I don't know why I pulled out the "M" when I was making this first tag. I really want to wear it tomorrow, but I have to think of an excuse for wearing the letter M!

Under Her Charm's First Give Away!

I am so excited about stamping on these beautiful rimmed discs, that I am going to give one away in Under Her Charm's First Give Away ever!

This offer is for the NEWEST rimmed disc necklace, shown here.

This sterling heart features a 14k gold plated raised rim. The charm has been hand stamped with the phrase "I LOVE YOU MORE." The letters are blackened to stand out, and the surface is lightly brushed to a satin finish.

This is a great necklace to give to someone you love - your daughter, your mom, your grandma. Guys, if you are reading, grab one for your wife! Also great to get for yourself to express how you feel about your sweetie or your kids.

This necklace will soon be featured on my website and etsy shop, but you can enter for your chance to win this one right now!

How to enter
Step 1: Become a follower of Under Her Charm's Under Their Charm blog. If you are a fan of the Bay Area, hand crafted jewelry, or unbearably cute kids (maybe I'm biased), you won't be disappointed!
Step 2: Leave a comment under today's blog entry about anything. Maybe say who you love more, or who loves you more!
Step 3: Check back in ONE week to see if you were randomly chosen to receive this necklace. I know that's confusing now that I am on the west coast and my hours are way different than the rest of the world's, but I will announce the winner here and contact you.

Thanks!

The library

We were sure that when we moved to the Bay Area, we would be downsizing, but boy, were we lucky to find this place. We were able to unpack our books that hadn't seen the light of day since we were mere students.

Here is half of it.

Fully organized into sections, with science and health,

travel (we've been to all of these places - those were the days),

and fiction (in alphabetical order by author's last name, of course), among others.

When I grow up, I totally want a library with one of those ladders that rolls along the highest shelves. Maybe a card catalog, too.

Family fun

We just discovered family fun night at the local pizza joint.

A little face paint

some lollipops

and balloons for everyone.

I wonder where we will be every Tuesday night!

Cute little letter

How cute is this little rimmed disc? It is about 10 mm, and just perfect for one script letter.

I can't decide if I want to add it to the shop or not. We'll see. . .

A day at the beach

From the Muir Beach overlook, you can see the patch of beach in the left middle of this picture.

It was pretty chilly and windy (usual for the Bay Area!).

But everyone liked playing in the sand.

Somewhere over the rainbow

I'm not sure if we are tourists or residents, but today we joined all of the other San Francisco tourists for a bay cruise. . .

under the Golden Gate Bridge

and around Alcatraz.

Edwin had clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, and corn dogs for the kids

and lastly, we hit Lombard street just in time to see a rainbow over my brother's house

Little feets

Last night, after everyone 5 and under should have been asleep, I felt like someone was watching me while I stamped in the basement.

Naughty, but cute. That's my little Spiderman for you.

How Glamourous!

Today Under Her Charm was featured on "Glamour24-7"

Be sure to check out her blog here!

Thanks so much for choosing Under Her Charm jewelry, along with so many other glamourous picks!

4th of July

Yes, you're right, it's only the THIRD of July, so why the kids' day care is closed, is a mystery to me, but I already had to ask for a day off of the job I started 3 days ago! How embarassing.

So, this gave me a chance to set up my studio in my new house (wow, after almost 3 weeks of being here!). AND, I get to show off the new camera Edwin bought.

I've never been to Nantucket, MA, but doesn't sound like a nice place to be?

How sweet is Little Lila. She insists on shoving her blankie up against her nostrils for a little relaxation. I don't even know how she breathes like this!
