Week 15 Cravings

I am a very typical pregnant person - I need pickles, potato chips, and anything else I can get my hands on. The mere mention of a food, a commercial, or someone walking by with something, and I have to have it. I've already been through a week of Jamba Juice, grapefruits, Odwalla juice and roast beef sandwiches. This week, it was a little more difficult to hunt down my craving, but luckily, everything can be found in Berkeley.

First, it was Vietnamese three color bean drink (delicious!)

and then Taiwanese style shaved ice with red beans (yum!)

Oops

Oops, I am that type of mom. The one that is a week late turning in the kids' school supplies (I couldn't find jumbo pencils anywhere!), fills out all the paperwork late, and shows up late on Monday morning because I was too busy taking pictures of the baby rocking out to Hannah Montana.
.

Sorry, Ms. Ellen and Ms. April! I'll do better.

School days

Ronnie was excited as usual for a new adventure - first day of first grade!
.

Ben was nervous for his first day of kindergarten and wanted nothing to do with pictures.
.

Very different personalities!
.

Ronnie found her seat and started her assignment right away.
.

Ben found his good friend from pre-school and the bucket of Legos. He nearly forgot to say good-bye after that.
.

That's two down in public schools!

They Might Be Giants

The last time I saw They Might Be Giants was at Liberty Lunch in Austin, TX, with someone that wasn't Edwin (seriously long time ago). This time, a free concert at a eucalyptus grove in San Francisco, with Ronnie, Ben and Lila singing along!

Followed by dinner overlooking Point Lobos

and the remains of the Sutro Baths.

It's back!

You know how sometimes you feel like fusing? A little metalsmithing, if you will. Well I made a few of these classic eternity necklaces. Rustic, organic, and forever linked!

Find it in my etsy shop.

Photoreceptors or blankie?

Here's a hint. The top picture is from chicken retina and was taken with a scanning electron microscope at 800 times. The second picture was extracted from under Lila's nose.

More from Yosemite

The kids loved being out in nature, climbing over dangerously slippery rocks, and seeing the waterfalls.

Weekend Adventure

People around here really seem to like Yosemite, so we decided to try it out this weekend. It was quite large. Lots of trees and rocks. Big old ones.

So I finally figured out how to make my blog pictures large. It somehow involves Flickr.

Tomorrow, color and kids.

Ou est Lila?

In the closet!

Silly Lila! I'd probably go there, too, if I could fit.

Soldering in script

A couple posts ago, I introduced my new soldered initial pendants. Here they are in script.
And in horseshoe.
